Operations

Epifor for
Operations

One live picture of the floor, capacity you can commit to, and the real cost of every order while it is still running.

Epifor turns every operation reported on the floor into three things you can act on: where each order stands right now, what capacity you actually have this week, and what each job is costing while it is still running. One source, updating as the work happens, on a screen rather than in a meeting.

What changes for you

01

One live picture instead of a status meeting

Every operation is reported at the work center that performed it, so the board on your screen is the floor as it is at that moment. Which orders are running, which are late, which work center has them and how long they have been standing there.

02

Capacity you can commit to

See the load on every work center and work center group before anyone gives a customer a date. When a machine goes down, the load rebalances and you can see what it costs you before the week does.

03

Real cost per order, before the invoice

Labor, machine time and downtime are attributed to the order that consumed them. Margin becomes something you watch on a live job rather than something you calculate on a finished one.

04

Delays that arrive with a cause attached

Completion dates are projected from live floor conditions, and the work center causing a slip is named while there is still time to move something. Downtime carries alarms and root cause, so the same problem stops arriving every month.

05

Answers without building a report

Ask “are all my orders on time?” or “what caused yesterday’s downtime?” and get an answer from your own production data. KPI reports and dashboards update as work is reported, and the data streams into Power BI if that is where your board pack lives.

06

Adoption you do not have to force

Operators learn the interface in about five minutes and administrators in about an hour. Permission levels are not predefined, so you create a level, name it and decide exactly what it can and cannot do. Nothing on the floor changes to suit the software.

What you stop doing

✕
Holding a meeting to find out where things are.
✕
Sending a supervisor to chase an update.
✕
Committing to dates on capacity you are estimating.
✕
Learning that a job lost money after it was invoiced.
✕
Building the weekly report by hand.

Frequently asked questions

Q.01
How long before we see anything useful?
Live job status and work center load arrive as soon as operators start reporting. The learned planning times and the cost history build over the first weeks of production. Full implementation runs from a few weeks to four months depending on your digital maturity.
Q.02
Will operators actually use it, or will it be another system they ignore?
The interface is built for the shop floor, not the office. Tap to start an operation, tap to finish it, record quantity good and quantity scrapped. That is the whole interaction, and most of our clients had their teams fully operational within a couple of days.
Q.03
Do we have to replace our ERP?
No. Epifor sits between the ERP and the floor. Orders come in, and quantities, material consumed, labor hours and completion go back.
Q.04
Can the system be shaped to how we already work?
Yes. Routings, work centers, quality rules, priority levels and permission levels are all defined by you. Nothing is predefined and nothing requires code.
